Gus, a nine-year-old Chinese crested dog from St Petersburg, Florida, captured the hearts of judges at the 20th Annual World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in northern California.
Gus, a Chinese crested who had one eye and three legs, won the title of World's Ugliest Dog this summer.
Gus, the World's Ugliest Dog, has died yesterday after losing a battle with skin cancer.
Owner Jeanenne Teed, from Florida, said she would spend the $1,600 prize on treatment for Gus's skin cancer but till can't helped it.

Havanese was originally from The Mediterranean.This interesting little dog is believed to be descended from the same bloodlines as the popular bichon frise and, indeed, both breeds owe much of their development to the island of Tenerife Havanese are natural companion dogs, gentle and responsive. The Havanese has a sturdy build and bears the appearance more of a family dog .They become very attached to their human families and are excellent with children.This is a very healthy long-lived breed, however, all long-lived breeds eventually have health problems.

Height: 7.5-11.5 inches
Weight: 7-13 pounds
life span:13-15 years.



NEWFOUNDLAND

The Newfoundland is a large, usually black, breed of dog originally used as a working dog in Newfoundland. These web-footed, water-loving dogs have a natural instinct for water rescue.
Many believe the Newfoundland originated from crosses between Tibetan Massifs brought to Canada By British or European fisherman and local dogs early in the 1700's. During the 19th century, the breed became a European status symbol and at one time, Newfoundland dogs were the most popular import to Great Britain.
Newfoundland dogs are very devoted to their owners and love being part of large families with children. They have a dense, oily double coat which requires daily grooming. Newfoundland dogs need plenty of daily exercise - and love to swim. Newfoundland dogs do not enjoy hot weather, and do best in cooler climates.

Height: 26-28 inches (66-72cm)
Weight: 120-150 pounds (55-68 kg)

Life Expectancy: 8 to 10 Years

Bichon frise Originated in the Canary Islands, Since the 14th century, this loveable "moving powder puff" has adorned the laps of dog lovers ranging from royalty to celebrities and everyone in between.The Bichon Frise is a non-shedding, pure white, curly dog that's small enough to rest in your lap. Despite the short coat, the dog requires regular brushing and bathing as part of its grooming regimen.Its head looks like a giant circular ball of white fluffy hair dotted with dark eyes, a dark nose, and dark lips.It can be used a show dog, gun dog, and companion.
Its also called Tenerife Dog.

Weight: 8-12 pounds.
Life Span: 12-15 yrs.

YORKSHIRE TERRIER

Yorkshire terrier was originally from England.Originally developed to help control the rat population in mid-19th century industrial Britain, the Yorkshire Terrier hails from an area in Northern England after which the breed was named. Yorkshire Terriers are intelligent, confident, and affectionate. Lively and spirited, yorkshire terrier is ever eager for adventure and trouble. This little dog is highly energetic,clever& brave.

Weight : 3-7 pounds
Life span : 13-15 years

VIZSLA

The Vizsla Dog comes from Hungary and was bred originally pointing, falconry and trailing. The Vizsla Dog is also known by the other names of Hungarian Vizsla, Magyar Vizsla, Hungarian Pointer and Drotszoru Magyar Vizsla. The word Vizsla is often mis-spelt as Visla. This dog is classified as one of the Sporting Dog Group which we go on to describe in detail in the section at the bottom of this page. The Vizsla Dog was first Registered by the AKC (American Kennel Club) in 1960.The vizsla is a medium size, short hair dog that is red or golden rust in color and is known for it's great hunting abilities and friendly personality.This breed needs a patient, firm hand. They are reliable with children, loving all the play they can get.

BLOODHOUND

The Bloodhound originates from Belgium and is one of the oldest hound breeds.While the Bloodhound owes most of his origins to the Mediterranean countries, it must be said that he was refined further, following his introduction to Europe. Originally appearing there, prior to the Crusades, there were two known varieties of Bloodhound at the time - the black and the white. The black variety of this breed later became known as the famous St. Huberts’ hounds.The Bloodhound is a very large, powerful dog with well-developed muscles and a short, harsh coat. This dog has quite loose-fitting skin around the face, resulting in a droopy and rather depressed expression. Bloodhound are playful with children and make great family pets.
Bloodhound height is 25-27 inches(64-68cm)
Its weight _ 90-110pounds
life span _ 8-10years.

GREAT DANE

Germany was proud of its Great Dane history, in 1876,the Deutsche Dogge was elected the Countries National dog.Great Danes are large dogs that are among the tallest of dog breeds
The Great Dane is nicknamed as the "Apollo of all dogs." It was originally used to hunt big game (wild boars), as a patrol dog and as a war dog. it is brave and a good watchdog.the name "Grand Danois" was given by French naturalist Comte de Buffon during his travels in Denmark
This breed is known for being affectionate, gentle, patient and kind. They are playful with children and make great family pets. They love to be around people and are very loyal to their owners. They do not bark much either
Advise:It is important to teach Great Danes not to lean on people or children so injuries may be avoided. Great Danes stand 30 inches or more at the shoulder.
